Twisted Vee — Dandy's World Guide: Pop-Ups & Slow Debuff & Counter

Twisted Vee is a Main-class Twisted in Dandy's World — the corrupted form of Vee, and the game's most annoying Twisted by design. She runs at 10 walk / 18 chase speed with a 3-second attention span — average chaser stats — but her mechanics attack the player directly: she applies Slow II (-25% Movement Speed) to anyone she's chasing for 5 seconds (10-second cooldown), and she spawns pop-up ads on players' screens (45-second cooldown). She can also detect sounds from anywhere — failed Skill Checks, Airhorns, and abilities pull her from across the floor. The pop-ups are the real threat: they cover Skill Checks and the Sticker Wheel, can make you fail extraction at the worst moment, and she'll come running when you do. She's the Twisted that fights you through the UI.

Mechanics Explained

Twisted Vee has a three-part kit: a chase debuff, a UI attack, and global hearing.

Slow II on chase. When she's chasing a Toon, she applies Slow II (-25% Movement Speed) for 5 seconds, on a 10-second cooldown. The debuff drains your escape ability mid-chase — sprint-tapping to gain distance while it's active is the standard counter.

Pop-up ads. Every 45 seconds, she spawns pop-up ads on player screens. They can cover Default Machine Skill Checks and the Sticker Wheel. If a pop-up appears during a Skill Check, you can fail it — and because she hears failures from anywhere, she'll come straight to you. During chases, pop-ups can make you run into walls.

Global hearing. Like Twisted Astro, she detects sounds from anywhere on the floor: failed Skill Checks, Airhorns, and abilities. This turns her pop-ups into a two-stage trap: fail a Skill Check (hidden by an ad), and she's already on her way.

Counter tools. Train Whistle completely counteracts her Slow debuff. Ribеcca's The Undead makes her immune to it. A Pop (or similar) minimizes the slowness to -6.3%, and an Eject Button removes the debuff while giving a speed boost.

How to Counter

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you counter Twisted Vee?

Close her pop-ups fast (they cover Skill Checks and Stickers), listen for Skill Check audio if an ad hides one, and counter her Slow II with sprint-tapping, Train Whistle, Pop, or Eject Button. Don't extract near her unguarded — she hears failures from anywhere and will come.

How do Twisted Vee's pop-up ads work?

Every 45 seconds she spawns pop-up ads on player screens. They can cover Default Machine Skill Checks and the Sticker Wheel, causing failed checks and wrong Stickers. Close them quickly — number keys for Items, controller button-spam for the pop-ups themselves.

Why does Twisted Vee keep finding me?

She detects sounds from anywhere on the floor — failed Skill Checks, Airhorns, and abilities. If her pop-ups make you fail a Skill Check, she's already on her way. This is why pop-up management is survival, not convenience.

What's the best Toon against Twisted Vee?

Ribecca — The Undead makes her immune to Slow II, and Vee's 10-second debuff cycle gives her a permanent 10% boost while chased. Train Whistle also nullifies the debuff for any Toon. For distracting, 5★ speed Toons with speed Trinkets can out-walk her.

Corresponding Toon

Twisted Vee is the Twisted form of Vee (Main Character (M-005), tier S). Encountering this Twisted grants Research toward unlocking the playable version. See the Vee guide →

How Research Works

Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
