Mechanics Explained
Twisted Scraps' mechanic is a ranged whip — similar to Twisted Goob's grab, but without the pull.
The tail strike. She stretches her tail toward a Toon in her line of sight to attack, dealing 1 Heart. After the strike, she has a 15-second cooldown — during which she loses interest in you if her tail strike is on cooldown. If you see her swing her tail to the side, that's the wind-up — get out of line of sight immediately.
Breaking line of sight. Her attack only connects if she has sight on you. Ducking behind an island cancels it. This is the entire counter-play: cover discipline. In wide, open spaces with no objects, she's a much bigger threat.
The "disarm" trick. If she's near the Elevator during Panic Mode and hasn't used her tail strike recently, you can disarm her: take her aggro, hide behind an obstacle, wait for her attack to fail, then make a quick getaway into the Elevator. Memorize her cooldown — waiting too long outside gets you hit.
Detection. She has above-average vision range, so be careful in areas she patrols. In Blackouts, look for her glowing eyes and listen for her wind-up sound — visual cues fail in darkness.
How to Counter
- Get behind an island the moment she winds up. Her tail strike needs line of sight. If she swings her tail to the side, break sight immediately.
- Don't fight her in open spaces. She's a bigger threat in wide areas with little cover. Hide behind objects often; if you're spotted, run toward the nearest object and get behind it.
- If no cover exists, run directly away — you can outrange her attack, and she loses interest while it's on cooldown.
- Distracting her is easy: her low speed means even a 3★ Movement Speed Toon can distract her alone (brush against islands often since you can't fully outwalk her without a speed Trinket). Revolve around an object so her tail can't reach you, but re-show yourself so she doesn't lose aggro.
- In Blackouts, check corners and listen for the wind-up. Her snake-like tail can catch you off guard in darkness.
- Goob can save teammates — his pull gives invincibility frames, so he can yank a teammate out of her attack with good timing. Scraps' Toon counterpart can also tank/dodge by grappling to an anchor point (she's invincible while grappling).
- Elevator play: remember if she's used her tail strike recently. If not, disarm her by hiding behind an obstacle and waiting out the attack, then enter.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you counter Twisted Scraps?
Break line of sight the moment she winds up her tail strike — get behind an island or object. Her attack only connects with sight on you, and she loses interest while it's on cooldown. Avoid open spaces; if spotted with no cover, run directly away to outrange her.
Can you dodge Twisted Scraps' tail attack?
Yes — her tail strike requires line of sight and has a visible wind-up (she swings her tail to the side). Ducking behind cover or outranging her cancels it. She also loses interest in you while her strike is on cooldown.
What's the best Toon against Twisted Scraps?
Goob can pull teammates out of her attack with invincibility frames. Scraps' Toon counterpart can grapple to anchors to tank or dodge (invincible while grappling). Any Toon can counter her with cover discipline — she's slow, so even 3★ Movement Speed Toons can distract her.
Why is Twisted Scraps dangerous in Blackouts?
Her snake-like tail can catch you off guard in darkness, and her above-average vision makes her harder to avoid. Look for her glowing eyes and listen for her wind-up sound — or use a Toon that can highlight Twisteds.

How Research Works
Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
