Twisted Eclipse — Dandy's World Guide: Howl Mechanic & How to Counter

Twisted Eclipse is a Rare-class Twisted in Dandy's World — the corrupted form of Eclipse, and the game's aggro-amplifier. She runs at 10 walk / 19 chase speed with a 2-second attention span and a very high detection range, but her real threat is her signature ability: when she spots a Toon, she howls, and that howl attracts every non-occupied Twisted on the floor to the location where she saw you. She turns a manageable floor into a multi-enemy ambush in seconds. If dangerous Twisteds like Pebble or other Rare/Main enemies are present, her howl can chain-aggro them straight onto you. She's the Twisted that punishes getting spotted — the counter-play is avoiding her sight entirely or using her howl as a tool.

Mechanics Explained

Twisted Eclipse's kit is built around multiplying danger.

The howl. Every time she aggros a Toon — or switches aggro between targets — she howls. The howl attracts all non-occupied Twisteds on the floor to the location where the Toon was originally seen — not to her current position, not to the Toon's current position. That distinction is the key to escaping her.

Chain reactions. Her howl works like a running Airhorn: it triggers unoccupied Twisteds, removing the time a distractor would normally spend rounding them up. That's useful for distractors — but catastrophic in solo runs, where every Twisted is unoccupied and wandering, and a single howl can pull a Pebble or another dangerous enemy onto you.

High detection range. Her sight range is very long, which is a problem for 1-Star Stealth Toons — they can accidentally aggro her from across the floor.

Where she's dangerous: solos (no distractor = all Twisteds unoccupied), floors with high Twisted counts, Blackouts (harder to see her, easier to get ambushed by howl-called enemies), and Ichor Leaks (the debuff makes Skill Checks harder, and failures can trigger the chain).

How to Counter

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you counter Twisted Eclipse?

Avoid her sight entirely — her howl attracts all unoccupied Twisteds to where she saw you. If she spots you, run away from the sighting location immediately (that's where the Twisteds path to, not to you). Watch your stamina while fleeing.

Why do all the Twisteds run toward me when Twisted Eclipse howls?

Her mechanic attracts every non-occupied Twisted on the floor to the location where she originally spotted you. It's a chain-aggro ability — that's why she's dangerous with high-threat Twisteds like Pebble present, and why solo runs are her worst case (everything is unoccupied).

Can Twisted Eclipse's howl be useful?

Yes, for distractors — she functions like a running Airhorn, triggering unoccupied Twisteds and saving the time normally spent rounding them up. Coordinated teams can use her to gather Twisteds efficiently (hearing ranges still apply).

What should you avoid when Twisted Eclipse is on the floor?

Failing Skill Checks near her (can trigger the chain), getting spotted with dangerous Twisteds present, and Blackout corners where her howl can ambush you. In solos, keep a Smoke Bomb for high-risk floors.

How Research Works

Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
