Mechanics Explained
Twisted Connie trades chasing for trapping. She's invisible while passive, so you won't see her wandering — you'll only see the Machines she's claimed.
Possession tells. When she possesses a Machine, its red light turns blue and it makes rattling noises. That's your warning. Every Machine has a handle you can check before extracting — the single best habit against her.
The unavoidable hit. If you start extracting a possessed Machine, Connie's attack is unavoidable — you can't dodge it. The only counter is not extracting in the first place. This makes her brutal in solo runs where every Heart counts.
Detection helpers. A few tools reveal her: if Vee uses her Mic Check ability while Connie is inside a Machine, the word "Twisted" appears with an arrow pointing to that Machine (her model isn't highlighted, but the callout is unique to her). During events, walking near a possessed Machine gives event currency, which is a free tell. And the Research collection sound plays if you approach a Machine she's possessing before you've encountered her that floor.
How to Counter
- Check every Machine handle before extracting. Wait 2–3 seconds at a Machine to confirm she's not inside. This single habit removes 90% of her threat.
- Communicate her presence. As soon as you know Connie is on the floor, tell your team — especially distractors who might jump on a Machine without checking.
- Track completed Machines. In solo runs, remember which Machines you've done; she can only possess ones she can walk up to, so knowledge of the floor state protects you.
- Use Vee's Mic Check. If you're running Vee, her ability reveals Connie's location with a unique "Twisted" arrow callout — the strongest detection tool available.
- Follow her (niche). She's slow and idles near uncompleted Machines. Following her can reveal safe Machines, but it wastes time and can lead you into other Twisteds — only do it with a surplus of teammates.
- Don't finish the floor blindly. If the last Machine is possessed, deal with it carefully — the unavoidable hit plus Panic Mode can end a run.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you counter Twisted Connie?
Check Machine handles before extracting (wait 2–3 seconds) — if the light is blue and it's rattling, she's inside and the attack is unavoidable. Communicate her presence to your team and track which Machines you've completed.
How do you tell if Twisted Connie is nearby?
She's invisible while passive, so watch the Machines: possessed ones show a blue light and rattle. Vee's Mic Check shows a "Twisted" arrow pointing at her Machine. During events, walking near her Machine gives currency as a tell.
What happens if you extract a Machine Twisted Connie is possessing?
She lands an unavoidable attack — you can't dodge it. The only counter is checking the Machine first and not extracting. This is why she's dangerous in solo runs: one careless grab costs a Heart.
Is Twisted Connie dangerous?
As a chaser, no — she's slow and can't attack in the open. Her entire threat is the possessed-Machine trap. With good Machine-checking habits she's one of the easiest Twisteds in the game; without them, she's a Heart tax.

How Research Works
Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
