Mechanics Explained
Twisted Brusha's threat is economic, not physical. She doesn't hit hard — she makes your floor slower and riskier.
Graffiti debuff. When she spends her full duration at a Machine (about 5 seconds), she vandalizes it. Vandalized Machines have their Skill Check chance reduced by 15%, dropping the default to about 10%. For Toons with 4–5 Star Skill Check, or those using Skill Check Trinkets, this drastically cuts the frequency of Skill Checks — and for some, that's actually a nerf to their extraction speed.
The counter-intuitive upside. Toons with low Skill Check stats can actually benefit: fewer Skill Checks means fewer failures that halt extraction. But for players who can reliably hit golden zones, the reduction is pure downside.
Interruptible. She only vandalizes a Machine if she spends her full ~5 seconds there. If you interrupt her while she's painting, the debuff is prevented. Failing a Skill Check while she's nearby is basically an invitation — she'll walk over and vandalize your Machine.
How to Counter
- Interrupt her. If she starts painting a Machine, break her attention — the vandalism only completes if she spends the full ~5 seconds. Preventing it is better than cleaning it up.
- Let high-extraction Toons handle vandalized Machines. Toons with high Extraction Speed rely less on Skill Checks, so they're the natural picks for graffiti'd Machines.
- Use counter-buffs. Participation Award keeps the Skill Check chance at 35%, and Paint Bucket lessens the reduction to only 20% — either one softens her debuff significantly.
- Tisha and Razzle & Dazzle can clean graffiti. Tisha's ability removes the graffiti (at the cost of her ability cooldown, so weigh it against the speed boost), and Razzle & Dazzle can clear it too. Vee's buff also cancels the reduction.
- Extracting from a vandalized Machine can pay off (for one Toon). [One Toon with a passive extraction bonus gains a random Stat boost from vandalized Machines] [verify] — situational, but occasionally worth it.
- Don't fail Skill Checks near her. A failure is the easiest way to hand her a Machine to vandalize.
- Use her vision against her. Her high vision range makes her easy to bait and redirect — hide behind an object after baiting and she'll path away from your extraction zone.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you counter Twisted Brusha?
Interrupt her before she finishes vandalizing a Machine (~5s), let high-Extraction-Speed Toons work on graffiti'd Machines, and use Participation Award or Paint Bucket to soften the Skill Check reduction. Tisha or Razzle & Dazzle can clean the graffiti off.
What does Twisted Brusha's graffiti do?
It cuts a Machine's Skill Check chance by 15%, dropping the base to about 10%. Fewer Skill Checks = slower extraction for Skill Check-reliant Toons, but low-Skill-Check Toons can actually benefit from the reduced failure risk.
Is Twisted Brusha dangerous?
Directly, no — she's a Common with no heavy damage. Her danger is disruption: a vandalized Machine slows your floor, and failed Skill Checks on it can pull other Twisteds to you. She rewards awareness over dodging skill.
How do you stop Twisted Brusha from vandalizing Machines?
Interrupt her while she's painting (she needs ~5 seconds to finish), or clean the graffiti with Tisha/Razzle & Dazzle's abilities. Alternatively, counter the debuff with Participation Award or Paint Bucket instead of cleaning.

How Research Works
Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
