Mechanics Explained
Twisted Brightney is built around information, not damage.
The glow. She emits a red glow that goes through walls. This reveals her location at all times, and also lights up nearby objects. It works in your favor twice: you can predict where she'll wander, and distractors can find her instantly. In a game full of stealth-based threats, she's the one enemy that announces herself.
Blackout reroll. Her passive ability rerolls the chance of a Blackout occurring on the floor she's present in — if a Blackout hasn't already triggered. When the reroll succeeds, the Blackout is delayed, and you hear the sound of a switch turning off before the lights short-circuit. It's a heads-up mechanic: the sound is your warning that darkness is coming.
Where she gets dangerous. On the Daily Twisted Board, her Blackout reroll becomes a real nuisance. And on higher floors with many different Twisteds, she appears more often, layering Blackout risk onto an already crowded floor.
How to Counter
- Use her glow against her. She reveals herself through walls — let that knowledge guide where you extract, where you walk, and where you send your distractor.
- Treat her like a standard chaser. Her chase speed matches the majority of Common/Uncommon Twisteds, so the normal dodge playbook works: break line of sight, use obstacles, keep a stamina reserve.
- Low-movement Toons should respect her walk speed. Her 12 walk speed is above average, so 1–2 Star Movement Toons will have a slightly harder time out-walking her — keep distance before she closes.
- Prepare for the Blackout. When you hear the switch sound, expect darkness: stay near obstacles, memorize your floor layout, and warn teammates who are mid-extraction.
- Don't fear her on normal floors. She's only compelling as a threat when her Blackout reroll matters (Daily Board, high floors). On a standard floor, she's one of the easiest encounters in the game.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you counter Twisted Brightney?
She's one of the easiest Twisteds: her red glow reveals her position through walls, so you always know where she is. Break line of sight when chased, keep a stamina reserve, and treat her like any standard-speed chaser.
Why does Twisted Brightney glow red?
Her glow is her signature mechanic — it reveals her position and nearby objects through walls. It's a double-edged sword: it helps you avoid her, but it also means she lights up whatever she's near, so don't walk into her line of sight expecting surprise.
How does Twisted Brightney's Blackout mechanic work?
Her passive rerolls the chance of a Blackout on her floor. When the reroll succeeds, the Blackout is delayed and a switch sound plays before the lights cut. The sound is your warning — treat it as "darkness incoming" and prepare.
Is Twisted Brightney dangerous?
On normal floors, no — she's low-threat. She becomes a nuisance on the Daily Twisted Board and on high floors where Blackouts stack with other dangers. Her threat is never raw damage; it's the Blackout layers she adds.

Twisted Brightney is the Twisted form of Brightney (Regular (SC-005), tier A). Encountering this Twisted grants Research toward unlocking the playable version. See the Brightney guide →
How Research Works
Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
