Twisted Bobette — Dandy's World Guide: Item Hearing & How to Counter

Twisted Bobette is a Main-class Twisted in Dandy's World — the corrupted form of Bobette, and one of the fastest enemies in the game. Her chase speed is a brutal 25, far above the average 18–19 that most Twisteds run at, which puts her in the "don't get spotted" category alongside Twisted Coal in Blackouts. Her signature mechanic flips the usual rulebook: instead of reacting to Skill Checks, she hears Items being picked up — including Tapes and Ornaments — and rushes to the pickup location. That means every grab, every Tape pickup, and every trinket drop can pull a Main Twisted straight to you. Her attention span is a long 5 seconds after a hit, but her vision circle is huge, making sneaking past her genuinely difficult.

Mechanics Explained

Twisted Bobette's threat comes from item-based aggro, which most players aren't used to managing.

She hears pickups. Picking up any Item — including Tapes and Ornaments, but not Research Capsules — triggers her aggressive state, just like failing a Skill Check near a normal Twisted. She runs to the pickup location. This applies to items dropped by abilities too, which makes Toons like Tisha, Razzle & Dazzle, or Teagan (whose abilities drop Items) natural lures — or natural liabilities.

The speed problem. Once she's in chase, her 25 speed outruns almost everything. Low-movement Toons can't escape her in a straight chase. Her counterbalance is a 5-second cooldown after successfully hitting a Toon — that's your escape window if you take a hit.

Huge vision. Her circular vision range is very large, so sneaking behind her back is unreliable. Treat her like a line-of-sight boss: don't get seen at all.

How to Counter

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you counter Twisted Bobette?

Avoid picking up Items (including Tapes) while she's on the floor unless she's distracted. If you must grab something, move away from the pickup spot immediately. Once chased, loop her around an island with tight corners — her 25 speed beats you in a straight line.

Why does Twisted Bobette run toward me?

Because she hears Items being picked up — Tapes and Ornaments included — and rushes to the pickup location. It's not you, it's the pickup. Move away from the spot after grabbing, and don't grab Items near Machines you're about to extract.

What's the best Toon to distract Twisted Bobette?

A fast Toon with speed Trinkets, plus a backup distractor for other Twisteds. Loop her tightly around an island, sprinting corners when she catches up. Teammates with stamina or speed buffs (like Cosmo or Brightney) make the job much safer.

How do you survive Twisted Bobette with a slow Toon?

Never get spotted — her vision is huge, so treat sightlines as danger zones. If she hits you, use the 5-second cooldown to escape and heal. Speed Trinkets help slow Toons close the gap; save them for her floor.

Corresponding Toon

Twisted Bobette is the Twisted form of Bobette (Event Main (Christmas), tier Event). Encountering this Twisted grants Research toward unlocking the playable version. See the Bobette guide →

How Research Works

Research is the unlock mechanic tied to Twisted encounters: each successful run against a Twisted fills a Research bar. At 100%, the corresponding Toon becomes unlockable (some at 50%). It's the core loop for unlocking Main Characters and higher-rarity Toons.
