Coin Purse — Dandy's World Trinket Guide: Effect & How to Get

Coin Purse is a Store Trinket in Dandy's World that gives you 30 extra Tapes at the start of a run. It's one of the cheapest Trinkets in the game, intended as a starter option — but the community consensus is blunt: 30 Tapes isn't much, and the Trinket is outclassed by nearly every alternative. 30 Tapes is roughly three Machines' worth of extraction, and stronger Tapes-generating options (like Fancy Purse or other economy Trinkets) surpass it by Floor 2. Its one legitimate use is Mastery quests: it helps Toons with "Use Ability!" and "Buy Items From Dandy" requirements (Sprout, Teagan, Ginger) progress faster, and it shines in short, Mastery-focused runs.

Quick Stats

Type	Store Trinket
Effect	Start with 30 extra Tapes
How to Get	Cheap Dandy's Store purchase [verify price]
Best For	Mastery quests, absolute beginners
Verdict	Weak — outclassed by most economy Trinkets

Effect Explained

Coin Purse's effect is simple: +30 Tapes at run start.

The value math is against it: 30 Tapes is a small amount (about three Machines' worth), and Tapes accumulate naturally as you play. By Floor 2–3, stronger economy Trinkets (Fancy Purse and similar) generate far more value. The community verdict is direct: don't use it — it doesn't contribute meaningfully in the long run.

Its niche is Mastery quests. The starting Tapes help with: - "Use Ability!" requirements for Toons like Sprout, Teagan, and Ginger - "Buy Items From Dandy" / "Use Items" quests

It fares best in short runs conducted purely for Mastery progress, where the early Tapes accelerate quest completion before the run ends.

How to Get Coin Purse

Coin Purse is bought from Dandy's Store at a very low price [verify current cost] — it ties with another Trinket as the cheapest in the game, with one of the simplest prerequisite tasks.

Best Toon Combos

Sprout, Teagan, Ginger: their "Use Ability!" Mastery requirements benefit from the starting Tapes.
Mastery-focused short runs: accelerate "Buy Items From Dandy" / "Use Items" quests.
Absolute beginners: a small early-run cushion while learning.
Avoid in serious runs — 30 Tapes is outclassed by Floor 2.
