Effect Explained
Cherished Blanket's effect only applies to Trail Abilities — abilities that leave a trail of effect on the ground. Currently, Waxwell is the only Toon with such an ability, so the Trinket is functionally Waxwell-exclusive.
For Waxwell, the extended trail: - Lasts 4 seconds longer — less frequent re-casting needed - Reaches farther — the trail covers more ground - Covers more area — more teammates can see and benefit from it
The community notes the gain is "quite insignificant" in practice — 4 seconds is a modest extension, and the Trinket occupies a slot that could hold a more broadly useful effect. It's a specialization pick for dedicated Waxwell players, not a general recommendation.
It also carries flavor weight: the blanket visibly belongs to Waxwell (it's burnt, matching his fire theme), it's awarded by completing his Research, and it's required for his Mastery.
How to Get Cherished Blanket
Complete 100% Research on Twisted Waxwell to unlock Cherished Blanket. Waxwell is a newer Toon (released August 2026), so his Twisted encounter is the unlock path — a mid-to-late-game acquisition for players investing in his Research.
Best Toon Combos
- Waxwell: the only Toon with a Trail Ability — the Trinket's sole real user.
- Waxwell Mastery runs: required equipment for his Mastery completion.
- Avoid on any other Toon — the effect simply does nothing without a Trail Ability.
